Dear
Subscriber,
It's been a long time coming. Since November 2000, we have
sent 106 issues of this ezine and we would
like to unveil our new, re-branded look.
Our new identity encompasses the many topics
we'd like to present to you about creating
success in your life.
Many of you emailed me this week telling me how much you
related to last week’s article, “Do You Have the Courage to be You?” It’s so
great to hear what you think and what’s important to you so we can create more
content in those directions. We want to encourage more feedback in what you’d
like to see in our ezine. If you have comments, please send them to my virtual
manager at peggy@gmarketingcoach.com
.
It’s really gratifying for us to have more of a relationship
with you, our subscribers. Over the last few months I have tried many new
things, form Mitch’s Song of the week to excerpts from my Six Keys book to
online marketing strategies. In just about every issue we have gotten feedback
from you. Most of it has been positive and some of it informative.
Talk to us. We’re listening.
Over the last year I have worked closely with the top
coaches in the country in joint venture projects and creative
brainstorming. One of the coaches I
respect greatly is Kim George – Communications Manager of Coachville. She is offering
a new program, Collaborating for Cash: The Five Stages to Building Effective,
Strategic Alliances. Find
out more here.
Today’s issue will discuss using autoresponders for maximum
impact.
To your success,
Mitch
P.S. For those of you who sent me a personal note about my
move, I appreciate hearing from you. I love living here in Scottsdale!

How to Automatically Follow-up With Your Customers and Prospects
by
Mitch Meyerson and Rob Bell (excerpted
from Online
Marketing Superstars)
The
most important thing you need to have on your website is a way to capture your
customer’s addresses. It’s
very
important. And there are several different ways to do that.
You can offer free
content, such as a digital newsletter or marketing tips, but you want to entice
your customer to give them your email address. When this is captured it
automatically goes into your database, your shopping cart database, and we flag
them for prospects. And they are subscribed
to what’s called an auto responder.
The
auto responder simply takes that information, subscribes them to a list that
you specify that will automatically send them your digital newsletter or an
email with your marketing tips.
The auto responder will
allow you to save your messages so that you can continually follow up with
your prospects. And we have something called a smart auto responder. Let me explain
because that’s a term that is quite different. Our auto responders will direct
a new contact to a ‘hot lead’ part of the auto responder. If you send out five
or six auto responder messages and all of a sudden that customer comes back and
makes a purchase, you don’t want to continue to send them your prospect
message, they now become a customer. Our our system will actually automatically
unsubscribe them from your prospect auto responder list and then subscribe them
to your customer list.
We also allow you to have a
system of products in our auto responder and what that is, for each product
that you’re selling you can tie in your auto responder to sell different
products. Here's an example of how that can work:
I’m selling vitamins only at cost. Vitamins are a
consumable product and on average people will buy a 30 or 60 day supply. A day or
two after an order has been placed the cart will send out an auto responder,
telling them a little bit more about the product they purchased and the other
products you offer. Then later, if someone has purchased a thirty day supply of
vitamins the auto responder can send them a message on the twenty fifth day
that says that says it’s been 25 days since you’ve order your product, you must
be almost finished, would you like to place another order. The auto responder
will have a direct link to that product already in the shopping cart on the
checkout page so that encourages repeat business, which is very important to
me.
This
is an efficient way to maintain contact
with your customers and remind them when
it's time to place their next order. Autoresponders
are easy for you to set up and forget, and
they're very informative for your customers.
